How to get the most from your refilled cartridges
...............................................................
Inkjets with integral printhead
(e.g. all
Lexmark, most HP*, some Canon)
* NOT hp#14 (c5010/11) or hp#10/11
HANDLING & STORAGE
Do not touch the printhead, or metal contacts.
Do not leave cartridge with the printhead in contact with any surface as this
can result in ink being drawn out of the cartridge.
If you want to store your cartridge for future use, store in a sealed plastic
bag with a small amount of damp tissue. Ensure the printhead is not touching the
bag or tissue.
Avoid extremes of temperature.
FITTING
Refit your refilled cartridge to your printer as soon as
possible.
Do not remove any labels or clear tape.
Otherwise, follow the printer manufacturer's instructions for fitting a new
cartridge.
If you are asked if the cartridge is old or new, select "New".
If you get the message that the cartridge is empty or low, ignore the message
and continue as normal.
WHEN YOUR CARTRIDGE
RUNS OUT OF INK
Bring your cartridge along for a refill as soon as it runs
out
Or when your printer tells you the ink levels are low.
If you have more than one cartridge fitted, why not have 2 or more refilled and
claim your 15% Discount ? Delay in refilling when a colour has run out may make
your cartridge unsuitable for refill.
TROUBLESHOOTING Banding:- If
white lines appear across the printout, this can be due to air trapped within
the printhead. To rectify, please go to our Print
Test Page Contamination:-
If colours appear muddy or incorrect, this can be
due to some mixing of colours within the printhead. To rectify, please go to
our Print Test
Page Leakage from printhead:-
Some cartridges may leak a little ink from the
printhead for an hour or so until they become stable. Simply dab gently with a
tissue and stand on an old dish etc. until OK.
